Paid Internship: Office of National Drug Control Policy (Director's Office)

Washington, D.C., DC
Temporary
Office of the Director
Student (College)

The Executive Office of the President's Office of National Drug Control Policy (EOP/ONDCP) leads interagency and intergovernmental policy development and analysis work focused on two distinct but interconnected mission spheres: public health interventions aimed at reducing illicit substance use or misuse of prescription drugs, treating substance use disorder, and developing and enhancing resources for those in recovery from substance use; and interdiction initiatives aimed at reducing the trafficking and overall availability of illicit substances and their chemical precursors ,including cracking down on the global criminal networks fueling American deaths.

ONDCP's Office of the Director oversees policy development, implementation, and coordination across the agency and among federal departments, and establishes robust processes to ensure cross-component coordination that drives development of the National Drug Control Strategy, budget formulation, interagency collaboration, and responses to emerging issues.  The staff work directly with the Senate-confirmed Director to support her/his daily operations including speeches, meetings, public events, and the review and approval of policies.

The Office of the Director seeks interns who are highly motivated to contribute to ONDCP's critical mission.  The internship will support the Office of the Director in its management of the Agency and the development
and coordination of the Biden-Harris Administration's National Drug Control Strategy.  Attention to detail and excellent writing skills are required.
